After all the drama of last weekends final success there was little time to rest on the laurels for the lads before they were back in action in Meath at the weekend. The team were out on Sunday to face the Meath County Intermediate Champions which were an unknown challenge. The team travelled to Meath not knowing what to expect and set about their business in a business like manner. After 8 minutes the Bridge were 3 points up all coming from N Cleere. If you thought the team were going to rest on the early margin you were mistaken and by half time they were up by 10points to 0-2 but the Bridge had hit too many wides. The second half started with a flurry and after Nickey Cl.eere struck a good ball on the ground which the goalie could only stop Brian Lannon was there to bat it into the net. After this the Bridge ran riot with scores coming from all angles. The subs were brought in and they added more scores to the tally. In the end it was a comfortable win for the lads but harder days lay ahead. The team are out again next Sunday against the Wexford Champions in Enniscorthy and this will not be near as easy. We hope to see a big support team come down to Wexford and support the team. There will be a bus traveling with names going to Alan Flynn to book your place on 086 3330836. Let’s keep the season going and support the team. The team lined out as they did in the county final but had the comfort of bringing on 5 subs in the second half. The Leinster Final awaits but not before they get over the boys from Wexford. Keep following the team and lets hope the dream continues. |
