Bennettsbridge lost out to Conaghy Shamrocks in the quarter final of the Junior B Northern championship last night in James Stephens new venue on the Kells road. The Bridge played against a strong breeze in the first half but Conaghy were in control from the outset and the Bridge were fortunate to go in at half time only 4 points down considering Conaghy drove ten wides versus four for the Bridge. The Bridge started the second half brightly edging the gap to just two points but that was as close as they got as Conaghy got some lovely scores to further the gap. However the Bridge were unlucky to get a goal ruled out from sub Patrick O'Neill for an alleged square ball and from the restart Conaghy got a goal themselves to put nine points between the sides with fifteen minutes remaining.  The lads never dropped their heads and kept battling to the end but they could not pull back the deficit. The match finished Conaghy 1-16 Bennettsbridge 0-13. The Bridge lined out as: Ben Tynan,  Bill O Neill,  James Moran (0-01) , Shane Byrne,  Michael Power,  Gareth Hickey, Sean Wemyss,  Eddie Fitzgerald,  Eddie Murphy (0-02) , Gary Geoghaghan (sub Eoin O Connor) , Willie Murphy (0-03, 2f) , Luke Dowling (0-01) , Kevin Brennan (0-04) , Tim Dooley sub Patrick O Neill sub Aidan Byrne,  Dylan Walsh (0-02) .
Next game for the Junior B team will be the Joe Walsh county final.
