Many congratulations to Jason Cleere, Sean Morrissey and Liam Blanchfield on winning the All Ireland minor final with Kilkenny at Croke Park on Sunday.  Kilkenny went into the game as underdogs with Limerick being the bookies favourites after their very impressive victory in the semi final over Galway. However the Kilkenny team were well up for this game and settled the quicker and the first half ebbed and flowed with the sides remaining level all through the majority of the first half but Kilkenny went in 2 points up at half time.  The second half was full of great individual scores none more than corner forward John Walsh from Mullinavat who bagged 2 goals and in the other corner Alan Murphy was deadly accurate from frees and scored a few from play.  The Bridge boys were very instrumental in all this Kilkenny play with Jason at the back clearing his lines and picking off some fine passes to his fellow Bridge man Sean Morrissey who orchestrated the attack for the inside forwards.  Liam Blanchfield started the second half at centre forward and again Liam fielded some great balls, set up plays and got 2 lovely points from play.  The Kilkenny team played very well from 1 to 17 and it was hard to see them losing as they were more than able for the strong physicality brought by Limerick.

It was a great day for the Kilkenny minor team and it was a momentous day for the Bridge with the three lads bringing home the medals. They are a great bunch of lads and the Bennettsbridge Club is extremely proud of their achievements and we would like to wish Jason, Sean and Liam and their families and friends all the best and try and enjoy the celebrations as best you can.
